Brothers Nick and Nigel struggle to run an acting troupe in Elizabethan England, competing against rock-star Shakespeare who dominates the theatrical world. In a desperate attempt to write a big hit, Nick enlists the help of soothsayer Thomas Nostradamus to tell him what the biggest trend in the future of theatre will be. His answer: musicals; leading the duo on a zany adventure to concoct the world's first smash hit musical - but about what?
